This hunting lease is leased and not available. Base Camp Leasing has a 126 acre hunting lease available for immediate lease in Sullivan County, New York. This hunting lease is located in WMU (3k) (very close to Monticello) and is less than 85 miles from New York City. The property is all woods with the exception of a 5 acre swamp near the south-east corner. The hunting lease is relatively flat with some elevation on the very west border. There are several old logging roads that need some chain-saw maintenance (removing deadfalls). The landowner has given permission for this. I saw some nice deer sign (scrapes, rubs, droppings and trails). The south border is an old stone fence that goes to the road on the east border. I tried walking in this way but the woods and brush became very thick when I got close to the swamp. A group out of New Jersey used to lease this but unfortunately they have lost several of their hunters do to age and health. The property is a nice mixture of pine, hemlock and other hardwood trees. The swamp has a lot of deer trails going in and out of it. I do not get many Sullivan County hunting leases and when I do, they go fast. This hunting lease will provide a great outdoor experience. It has a great spot to park a camper and is easy to get around on. There is a row of posted signs down the logging road that are way off. The landowner is aware and is going to try and repost the lines correctly. If he does not get to it , he will allow the hunters to repost. Camping (get with landowner / town has a limit of days allowed) and ATV use are allowed for hunting purposes.
